[Tom]

I'll start off the introductions and give a bit about myself here. Probably more than most ever wanted (or will want) to know, but hey, this is the "introduction" forum, right?

My name is Tom, and I'm a computer addict.....
Since I was given (thank you dad) my first Timex Sinclair 1000 at the age of 8, I have been programming or working with computers in some sort of way. For almost 30 years now, I've either been looking at a computer, working on a computer, programming something, or taking 'em apart (let me tell you, getting 'em back together can be a hassle). I'm thankful to my dad for giving me that gift. Back then, you had to program your own games, save 'em onto cassette tapes if you were lucky, and there was no MMO, or even internet, at least publicly, for a few years. Cell phones weren't around, and the price of a 20m drive (yeah, that's all you got) was around $1000-$5000.

But anyways, I'm dating myself here. My passion is computing, programming, and networking. I live for fun, but I have other cool stuff I do too, like hang out with my cats, listen to music, watch TV a couple nights a week with friends, you get it.

I've been told I epitomize the BOFH attitude to most degrees, and I have to agree. Then again, I love my job(s) which involve keeping this community of things going, keeping additions and ideas flowing, and just making sure everything's up and running smoothly. Passionate? You could say so, and that's to a fault I'm sure.
