Greetings,
It's been a while since I shook things up a bit, but it's going to happen again on March 6th, 2010 . Here's the (tentative) plan:
Starting at midnight, March 6th (Saturday morning), I'll be shutting down and backing up forums and blogs. This will be done one at a time to prevent issues, starting with the newest addition , SMF 4 Free .
During the time that your forums are down, you will find a message stating that they are down. When they come back up, they'll be back up. Pretty simple, no?
I do not expect this to take the entire weekend, however, I have allotted this time to it. In theory, everything will be back up and running Saturday afternoon, HOWEVER, in case I need more time, it's allotted.

The scheduled transfers (as of now, subject to change)
Friday day/afternoon :
SMF 4 Free (SMF Host) (completed)
Unrestricted Minds Blogs (completed)
Real Change Blogs (completed)

Friday evening (around 8pm CST)
phpBB2 forums (completed)

Saturday Morning (between 10 am and 1pm)
phpBB3 forums (completed)

Saturday Evening (around 5-6pm)
MyBB Forums (completed)


I will keep this thread updated as progress happens.

Why change?
Change is the one constant in life. All kidding aside though, I'm moving these sites to a stronger, tougher, more powerful server. This should reduce some of the bottleneck that I've been seeing, and I'm sure you have as well.

What can we do?
Not much anyone can do at the moment. Sit back and enjoy the ride, I'll have this thread updated as things happen

So, I got a bit crazy tonight, and decided to fix (and move) the Unrestricted Minds blogs a bit ahead of schedule. They weren't working before (database problem), now they are!
Thus begins the database and site moves. I'll be doing more and more over the next few hours, starting with the small stuff, moving on to the bigger stuff tomorrow (Saturday)

If you notice any problems with the Unrestricted Minds blogs, please, do let me know in this thread so that I can resolve them

A bit ahead of schedule, but that's always good.
Real Change was transferred and is now ready to go
My BB Free was transferred and is now ready to go
SMF 4 Free is now being transferred and will be ready to go very, very shortly

The phpBB forums are now offline for the move and software upgrades. They shall return very, very shortly.

Cruising right along, the PhpBB2 forums have been done and completed.
Next up: phpBB3 forums, which, as promised will be done some time tomorrow AM.
I'll be turning on the phpBB2 forums very, very shortly. You may experience temporary DNS issues , but these will be all better very very shortly

PhpBB3 move completed. Didn't actually take THAT long to do, but it tried to hijack these forums, so I've been waiting a few hours for DNS to correct itself.
Next up: MyBB forums!

Working on MyBB forums now, then we'll be all done. Should be done in just a couple hours
